The Sober Community

In my post Falling off the wagon, I wrote about how important it is for me to surround myself with the culture of sobriety to keep myself on track. This may seem like a no brainer, but the minute I stopped actively educating myself on sobriety I justified drinking again. I was also shocked at how quickly my attitude switched back.

With this in mind, I decided to dedicate time today to exploring the online sober community. Having read through so many amazing blog posts, I now feel inspired and more confident in my decision to ditch the booze. There is such a beauty in sharing other people’s experiences and knowing that I’m not alone in my highs and lows as I strive for sustained sobriety.

There are so many wonderful people out there who are actively trying to make positive changes in their lives and who are kind enough to share what they experience. I’m truly grateful for this.

To everyone out there who is daring enough to refuse the booze-is-king ideology of our alcohol-centric society: you are amazing! Stay strong in your resolve and know that you are not alone.
